Straight Hair

When I was little, every Saturday my mom would sit all of us girls down and one by put all of our straight, straight hair into curlers. This saturday our girls were having a conversation about straight hair and curly hair.

Kiki and Allison decided they wanted to go curly for a day. They both sat amazingly still and while the littlest one pulled hers right out Kiki was very good with her curlers.
This picture was taken to show how lovely she is with curls, but I think we need a 3-D camera for a better curl picture. And as always even though this post isn't about them, the boys needed to get in on the action.
A little close up and wow, there is no denying whose pretty little girl this is. She looks alot like you.

The Doorbell Rang...

Little feet ran to answer the door. No one was there, we looked right and we looked left, just a BIG box!!!!
It said "TO: Brendan and Kinsey Plumb" and it was from "MOM!!!"
The box was opened with great anticipation, what could it be?

EASTER BASKETS specially picked out by the best Easter bunny in the whole world.
There was a girl one for Kinsey and a boy one for Brendan.

THANK YOU MOM!

Kinsey loves her bead kit and ponytail holders.

Brendan loves to turn his tounge green. There is nothing better than to be able to celebrate a holiday twice. "Thank You, We love you mom"

Easter

We gathered at my sister's house early Saturday morning for our family Easter egg hunt. While the Easter bunny (aka uncles) hid the Easter eggs, Nana gathered all the grandchildren for a story about the Easter bunny. My mother is a master storyteller, the children were captivated.

The kids were called outside by age to begin their hunt.

There were eggs o'plenty.

The uncles got creative and hid orange eggs in the orange tree. Kiki decided that an orange was as good as any old egg.

But by far the best Easter prank of the day was Uncle Jonathan's. He stuck a pink marshmallow Peep to the back of a sleeping lizard in the middle of the grass and then waited to see which niece or nephew would take the bait. It was McKinsey, she reached out to grab the peep and it scurried away, looking a little confused she chased after her fleeing marshmallow, it stopped, she reached down to pick it up again and squealed as it wiggled under her fingers, finally she realized there was a lizard underneath her coveted marshmallow. But that was no deterrent, she boldly reached down pryed the Peep off the terrified lizard and promptly popped it into her mouth. Needless to say it was the humorous highlight of the hunt for all of us.

Aunt Ivy's Wedding

Friday was Aunt Ivy's wedding.

Their is no lack of love from aunt's and uncle's and grandma's and great grandma's

All my sweeties, does it look like some of them are eyeballing that cake??? Thankfuly it made it till the bride and groom were ready to cut the cake, but our kids made up for waiting by each downing 3 slices of wedding cake. (the slices weren't that generous)
Afterwards the kids played in the playhouse and nana and grandpa's little playground.

Getting ready for Easter

We tried a different egg dying kit this year.
The kids each got a plastic bag that we put the eggs in the bag. We put little drops of dye on the egg and the kids rubbed it into the egg, them we repeated the process with another color and so on.

We ended up with pretty tie-dyed eggs and some multicolored fingers, but all in all I think it turned out okay. The kids were proud of their creations and we had eggs for potato salad.

Wild Wednsday as the Whole Rabble goes for a Ride

It never ceases to amaze me at what handsome boys we have.
Yabadabado!!! Our Flinestone boys ride as a stress relieving break during our shopping outing, you know how men are.
The girls on the other hand just think it is an added bonus to the shopping.

Getting wet on Tuesday

Brendan sprays the girls, much to their surprise, as well as mine because I was trying to get a picture.
It was easy to get him to stop spraying, I just asked him to come pose for a picture. The hose was immediately dropped.
Work it girls, be ferocious, make love to the camera, and yes Brendan, just stand there and smile. Thrilled to just be in front of the camera perhaps a modeling career is in store???

McDonald's after the park

Monday starts off with a trip to the park

Alec strengthening his muscles as he pushes one sister and then the other.
Kiki behind bars...we hope not.
Brendan: "Look at me, I am cute!!! Take my picture". Me: "What are you doing up there??? Get down this instant!! Oh, well, you are kind of cute, just one picture then you are getting down". (Someone's a sucker)
Brendan is getting very proficient at basketball, I am quite impressed with his five year old skills. This is his little ball for his little hoop at home, and it doesn't work quite so well with the adult size hoops at the park, but he still does really well for his size.
Action shots. Wheeeee!!!

Moments in our crazy life

Our future football stars!!! This was a really busy week at our house, we had bridal showers and pinewood derbys, track tryouts, and several little ones with fevers, cousins and grandma's visiting from far away and someone still has to go to work to pay the bills, it was all I could do to keep my head above water so this week we just have moments.

Kiki and I grab a quick bite in between running errands.

Dad and the boys worked on the cars for the pinewood derby, Brendan has decided he wants to be a scout "when I grow up" Dad told him just three more years and he can be a Cub Scout.

But meanwhile he decided to try his hand at being the resident horsey and freelance photography.

Daddy thought his princess looked adorable so he snapped a quick picture and we celebrated the first flip flops of summer with painting of the toenails.
